I am the author of Leadership Lessons of the White House Fellows (McGraw Hill) which is in eight languages and the best-selling A Message from Garcia (John Wiley & Sons), which was favorably reviewed by the New York Time.  I am the former CEO of the 8th fastest growing company in America and I’ve worked for 4 U.S. Presidents, both Republican and Democrat.

This is my personal blog.  It is focused on “authentic leadership.” My mission is to help you live with more passion, work efficiently with a laser-like focus and to lead authentically with extraordinary influence.

I write on authentic leadership development, productivity, and Latino Issues, and sometimes about things that do not fit neatly into one of these categories.

My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that you can put to work in your personal and professional life to lead a more authentic life. If you are in a position of leadership—or aspire to be—then this blog is for you.

My Biography

I founded and led what became one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. with sixty offices in seven counties and $2 billion in assets, which I sold in 2005.

For six years, I served on the Board of Directors of Winn Dixie Stores, one of the largest supermarkets in the country, until it was sold in March 2012.

I grew up in the Republic of Panama, graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and was a highly decorated military officer.

I am a Columbia Law School graduate, a former White House Fellow, and a bestselling author of two leadership books which have been published in eight languages.  I write and appears regularly on CNN and Fox News, and have over 1 million followers on Twitter and I’m among the Top 50 most connected individuals worldwide on LinkedIn which has over 200 million users.  See an extended biography here.
